I made New York out of books for the Royal Mail magazine a while ago and thought I'd post it up. Thanks to Mithi and Nadia for their wonderful help and 'The Red Cross' book shop for generously lending me the books!
I've recently returned from a trip to Poland where I saw the most amazing Polish paper cuts which have inspired me to do some myself....Also in Poland I bought some funny pencils, pictured above in Krakow market square. Also, it's a bit late to say, but in January I moved into a lovely new studio with the beautiful Rachel Lattimore and Sarah Parker (above is a picture of my desk).
I was kindly invited by publishers, Gestalten and artspace KOP to exhibit paper pop-ups at the Graphic Design Festival in Breda alongside 11 other international designers (who I love!!) including Marshall Alexander, Julien Vallee and LouLou and Tummie. So, if you happen to be in the Netherlands go check it out. There's loads of good stuff going on until 30th May.
I was very excited to see David Wilson's 'We Got Time' video in this year's Creative Review Annual. I had great fun working on the video last year, well done David!... and there's a nice big picture of one of my wolf masks - WOO.
I'm an illustrator and set maker working in London. Combining my two and three dimensional imaginations, I enjoy making work for a range of people; inspired by all things charming and strange.
I'm always keen to discuss new opportunities so please feel free to get in touch if you have a project in mind or would just like to say hello! hattie@hattienewman.co.uk +44 (0) 7747 690 212
